My boyfriend says he’s scared of me and I feel like Dwight in this scene from The Office:
I must be wearing a sheet mask.
As I write this, I have Dr. Jart+ Water Replenishment Cotton Sheet Mask on my face. It’s sopping wet, and I love it. As a whole, I love sheet masks. I’ve used a few different kinds, most recently one I bought from Target. I thought I could save a little money by trying a cheaper brand, but there is such an obvious quality difference between the cheap brands and the mask I’m wearing now!
This Dr. Jart+ mask is a hydrating, calming mask soaked with allantoin and witch hazel. I chose it over other masks because I’ve found that treating my skin gently really reduces breakouts and my makeup applies much better when my skin is hydrated. For me, there’s something that’s so luxurious about using a mask that makes your skin prettier, versus trying to treat acne or another problem.
When I opened the package, I was excited to find there was lots of serum inside (something my Target buy was missing). This mask was different from others I’ve tried in that there was no plastic material to peel off of the cotton, but it was still very easy to apply. Once I smoothed it on and fit it to my face, there was a lot of excess serum on my hands that I was able to apply down to my neck and chest. There’s actually still a good amount left in the package that I plan to apply when I take off the cotton!
I’ve had the mask on for a good 15 minutes now and it doesn’t feel dry, which is something that I hate about some sheet masks. The recommended time is 15-20 minutes, but I like to keep them on as long as possible! I’ll probably keep this one on for about 45 minutes.
The fit is good but not perfect, but that’s usually the case with most sheet masks. In my opinion, as long as there is enough material to cover my face and under my jaw, then I’m happy! It stays on well enough that I can sit up and type and watch TV as I wear it.
I took off the mask and rubbed the serum anywhere I could. Even my arms and legs–they don’t get enough love! Now that the Dr Jart+ mask is off, I can still feel the serum that hasn’t completely been absorbed yet. I don’t mind this, but if you’re sensitive about that sort of thing it may be a problem. My skin looks calm, but nothing is radically different about it. This mask is the kind of thing that affects your skin hours later, so here’s to hoping I wake up glowing!
